Sports Injury Assessment and Treatment
At DP Health & Fitness, I provide professional sports injury assessments alongside assessments for non sporting issues and personalised treatments on Hayling Island and the surrounding areas.
With experience dating back to 2008, I take an individual approach to understanding your concerns, assessing your body alignment movement patterns, muscular and joint health, posture screening to help identify suitable treatment options for you.
Whether you're dealing with muscular tightness, a sports-related strain or every day to day discomfort affecting your everyday activities, I'll discuss your needs and work with you to develop an appropriate treatment plan.
How does the Sports Injury Assessment Process Work?
Every assessment begins with a relaxed conversation about your symptoms, medical history and what you would like to achieve. This helps me understand your concerns and decide which assessment methods are appropriate for you.
I'll then assess relevant movement patterns, posture , tests and muscular function, where appropriate, before discussing my findings and the treatment options available.
Your treatment will be tailored to your individual needs and may include sports massage, soft-tissue techniques and practical advice after treatment and in between your treatments to support your recovery and movement.
Step 1 - Initial Consultation
We begin by discussing your symptoms, when they started, your medical history and how they affect your everyday activities or sport. This helps me understand your concerns and what you would like to achieve from treatment.
Step 2 - Assessment and Treatment
I assess relevant movement patterns, muscular function, posture and use specific tests such as special testing on the specific problem area where appropriate, before discussing my findings with you. Depending on your needs, suitable treatment may include sports massage, soft-tissue techniques and other approaches within my scope of practice.
Step 3 - Post Treatment Advice and Next Steps
Following your treatment, we discuss appropriate aftercare and practical advice to support your movement and recovery. If further sessions may be helpful, we can discuss a treatment plan suited to your individual needs.
